How to Draw and Shade a Sphere?

How to Draw a Sphere?

  1. Start by drawing a perfect circle using freehand as a beginner you have some difficult to draw perfect circle you will follow these steps as we discussed in the video otherwise you can use compass for draw a circle.
  2. Lightly sketch a vertical and horizontal guideline through the center of the circle. This will help you maintain symmetry when shading.

How to Shading a Sphere?

  • Determine the Light Source: Decide where the light is coming from. The side of the sphere facing the light should be lighter, and the side opposite the light will be darker.
  • Shading the Sphere: Begin shading the sphere by applying a light layer on the area closest to the light source. Gradually increase the darkness on the opposite side of the sphere as it moves away from the light.
  • Smooth Transition: Blend the shading to create a smooth transition between light and dark areas, creating a curved, 3D effect. Add a darker shaded area on the edge to enhance the roundness.
  • Cast Shadow: Draw a soft shadow on the surface beneath the sphere to give it a realistic, grounded look.

This method will help your sphere look three-dimensional and realistic.
